Bridging Over to Crossbridge Point
Client: Tom Easterday
Design Goal:
Building a 1 bed, 1 bath home for individuals with IDD (Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities) to bridge over into their NEW and exciting lives in a private/gated community for family and friends ONLY.
Future location preferably in Whitestown, Indiana.
Going for a peaceful environment with a comfortable front façade with a social interaction space on the covered porch toward a presented greenspace and pathway for all clients. You will notice that there is the usage of a dark blue board and batten with faux cedar shutters and lap siding with a calming, sensual palette.
As you look at the floor plan you will see that there is plenty of storage space and area to move around and/or add furniture for ADA accessibility with shelving applied 30" AFF for an easy 60" turning radius.
Further in the space, pocket doors are provided for easy entry into a private, yet public master bathroom and pantry area, GREAT for universal living.
Leading out toward the back you will notice a mudroom/laundry combo for even MORE storage and great usage of space.
For the garage area, you have your typical necessities.
ie. furnace, water heater, extra storage, attic access, etc.
Outdoors in the back there is another social interaction space that will be more private for this typical client, being that this is for a gated/private community. This space gives anyone the solutions they need for every day life.
