Assignment #2 Interior Walls - This is where we started to fill our house in with the rooms that were provided to us in a floor plan.

Assignment #3 Rooms and Room Tags - During this assignment we created rooms and room tags from the floor plan that was assigned to us.

Assignment #4 Windows and Doors - This assignment we started to add our doors and windows. We would have to look on revitcity or BIMobjects for additional styles

Assignment #5 Creating Floors - This is where we started to add flooring to our homes and creating floor properties.

Assignment #12 Annotating Sheets - During this assignment we started to render our home and place annotations where they needed to be to indicate certain things.

FINAL PROJECT

Typed Overview of Semester Project

This semester project for the art - 12000 course was given to us so we could advance throughout the semester. We proceeded this project by starting from the first bones of the house, like the exterior walls for example. Our process started with us meeting as a class to talk about our next  Next, we started to add in the space with the interior walls. After the interior walls we moved on to creating rooms and making sure everything flowed and met the requirements that were given to us. We then moved on to adding doors and windows to the space that represented the elevations that were assigned to our groups. Next, we created floors and then added in a shaft and stairs. Stairs were a pretty complex part because we had to have them a certain distance to fully fit. We then created Reflected Ceiling Plans and made sure everything had a pattern and was placed in the right position. Next we started the most exciting part of the semester project, adding components! What we did during this week was find furnishings to fill our houses and adding in casework and personalized touches to make our homes feel more homey. After that, we moved on to creating our interior elevations, which were very detailed. We added in tile work, case work, and also dimensions to give a good understanding what is taking place in that certain area. After these couple of fun weeks of adding our personal touches, we started to create our sheets and really put together our project and create renderings for the inside of the house. Watching this project grow into something so amazing was a blast. In the beginning I did not think I would fully grasp what was being taught but I did and I am very pleased with how our homes turned out!

Typed Overview of the Course

Taking this course really helped me understand a lot of structural properties, dimensions, and also just how a space functions. Learning Revit software in a total of 16 weeks seemed to be a bit risky, but it worked and I learned a great deal of information throughout this course. We met for this art- 12000 class twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. During this course we mainly had each assignment due every single Tuesday morning at 8:30 am, which gave us a full week to make sure everything we did was right and to make sure everything we did worked for our house in the long run. During this course Beth Huffman really put in a load of effort to help us understand each concept. We would start each class off with a lecture of Professor Huffman showing us what to do next for our assignments and giving us useful information about the system itself. She constantly walked around and helped each and every student with their assigned house and sometimes even stayed after class if they needed more assistance. This class was set in the basement of the ET building and we were very close to tech people in case we needed help with any software problems. After attending this class I can now manage to see or be assigned a structural building and produce it in the Revit software to the best of my abilities. This class was a blast to take and to see what all we have came up with is mind blowing and I cannot wait to use this software again in the future.
